I wanted to stop in today before our event at Egleston and wish everyone a blessed and highly favored day.
I also wanted to let everyone know that we hosted the first of what I hope will be many volunteer appreciation luncheons on Saturday February 25th at Kennesaw State University. Thank you to everyone that came to the luncheon and who participated in our giftwrapping fundraiser at Barnes and Noble over the holiday season. I wish there was more that FHLJ could do to show how much we appreciate and love you. Our volunteers are the most important partners we have and the blood that makes FHLJ live.

I wanted to stop by and check in. I have been working on a bone marrow donor drive with the Golden Key Honour Society chapter at Kennesaw State University and Marrow.org. The drive is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, March 22nd from 11:00am-3:00pm. We should have the date confirmed in the next week. Once we get the details nailed down I will post the information on the home page.
We also have a fundraiser with Dominos for half price pizza cards. Check out the fundraiser page for detailed information. Support the mission by purchasing a card and remember they make a great gift.
And of course we have events at Egleston and Scottish Rite for the kids which is what FHLJ is all about; the detailed information is on the home page. Keep the support and encouragement coming.

I wanted to stop by and let you all know great things are happening with FHLJ. I will be updating this exciting news in the January director’s corner. However, for now, I will say that we will be hosting more events this year at hospitals in Miami and Texas. We will host our first event in Miami in March. I have just finished the AmeriCorps planning grant that will give FHLJ more organizational capacity to soar as we help even more Marsha and Joeys out there. Okay, I am being a bit presumptuous with the grant but when you have God on your side there is no such thing.

It’s good to see that you stop by and visit. You probably did it late at night because I know that is when you and Joey would be up talking about nothing and everything. I’m sure he would be blogging you back. Things are still a little strange because he is not here but I am getting my new normal together so to speak.
We have some very exciting opportunities coming in this new year. Some are from the drawing board that Joey and I were working from and others are my new brain children. For starters, we will be operating in 2 new states, Florida and Texas. In the cities of Miami, Dallas and Fort Worth specifically. Also we will be expanding our fundraising and volunteers which is paramount to the ultimate success of our mission. And then there is the AmeriCorps grant which will open a whole new world for Faith Hope and Love Jesus, Inc. Stop by the Director’s Corner page on the website for more info. The beauty of this is that you will be able to get involved with us from Columbus, GA. Keep checking in faithfully and shoot me an email and of course you can always call. Oh yeah, as Joey would say don’t forget to BLOG! 🙂

What a wonderful Christmas! Watching all children blessed to wake up to see another day and learn about Jesus. The Lord already blessed us we just have to open our hearts to welcome Him and open our ears to hear Him to know that He is always there no matter what you are going through. I want to wish you all a very blessed and joyous Christmas. After 24 years of Christmas with myjoey, this is hard for me, however, Joey had other plans for me. It has turned out to be a blessed and joyous Christmas surrounded by my family. This is Joey’s favorite time of the year because it is all about Jesus and his love, joy and peace. Although this will be my first Christmas without Joey, I feel his wonderful presence all around me. So this morning when I woke up with tears, they were of the joyful memories that myjoey and I shared together on this blessed day.
Please remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. It is always better to give than to receive and our heavenly Father gave his son, the greatest gift of all, as an example of his great love for all mankind.
Again, I want to wish you all the blessings of the Christmas season.
