Rachel Hardy FAQ:

1.      What school are you attending?

I am currently a freshman at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA.

2.      What is your major?

My major is Health Sciences.

3.      What are your interests and hobbies?

My interests include hiking, biking, kayaking and pretty much anything you can do outdoors. I love to play sports such as basketball, ultimate frisbee and soccer. Some of my hobbies include photography, scrapbooking and hanging out with my friends.

4.      What plans do you have after you graduate?

After graduation, I plan on going to graduate school. Since Health Sciences is a very broad major, I will need to go to specialize in a particular medical field. My overall goal is to work with young children in hospitals (pediatrics).

We are pleased with the response we received in our college scholarship essay contest this year. I am very happy to be able to share with you our college scholarship winner who is an inspiration to all of us. Rachel is the epitome of courage and perseverance.

Her essay along with those of the other prodigious entrants should remind us of how fortunate we are to have our health, something that we all from time to time take for granted. I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate Rachel as well as acknowledge the young men and women who submitted essays for their strength and determination.
